My journey into the world of Persian rugs Started 24 years ago. Ahwazian Oriental Rugs was founded and I originally started as a support to my husband who had been in the industry in Zurich, Switzerland for many years. When we moved back to the UK the plan was to help out for a few years. I soon fell in love with the rugs, started working closely with the weavers and spent many months in Iran, India and Nepal. Its a beautiful business and I still get excited when I select new rugs. Each one is so different. It is still very much a family run business and in August last year we took the decision to establish our own Oriental Rug Centre, bringing other experts together so the customers can select from a larger selection of rugs from all over the world under one roof.
