MARILYN MESSIK: Writer for Businesses
I’m a firm believer that good communication is the foundation on which all business has to be built and I set up Create Communication to help entrepreneurs and companies shape their message to optimum effect. When I’m not gazing absently out the window, waiting for inspiration to strike, I’m writing website texts; press releases; leaflets; speeches; newsletters and creating business strategies.

My Background:
I was a regular feature and fiction writer for national magazines when my children were small and set up my first business, selling toys, books and party goods – initially from home – before opening first one shop then another.
When I sold the shops, I moved into the travel market, focusing on accommodation in the United States. My Advisory, Planning and Booking Service – helping travellers looking for somewhere unique to stay and sourcing hotels, country inns and B&Bs who could offer something special – grew and flourished and I concurrently set up a publishing company, producing an annual, full-colour Accommodation Guide. This all led to speaking invitations at industry conferences across the U.S. and a place on the board of various professional bodies. My accommodation guide was eventually bought out by Thomas Cook Publishing.

I published my first novel, Relatively Strange in 2013 and my second, Even Stranger in 2016.
